Overview

Case overview

Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin attended a rally supporting the Oslo peace process in Tel Aviv on 4 November 1995. As he left the event, Yigal Amir shot him at close range; Rabin died after being taken to hospital. [1]

Amir, an Israeli extremist opposed to the peace process, was arrested at the scene. He was later convicted of Rabin’s murder and sentenced to life imprisonment, while related proceedings examined assistance provided by others. [2]
